When Does "End Times" Start?

End Times. We all wonder when it will start.

Most people are familiar with these signs:

• New World Order (Kissinger just made a public announcement that Obama would be right to create it)
  
• false prophets (too many to name) and false christs
  
• large earthquakes are increasing around the world
  
• signs in the Sun, moon and stars (comets, meteors, new near earth asteroids and new exo-planet discovered, UFO activity)
  
• an explosion in knowledge and travel (computing capabilities doubles every 18 months; global travel is common)
  
• increased disease and epidemics (the 1st US case of Marburg hemorrhagic fever was just confirmed in Colorado)
  
• increased famines – 36.2 million Americans went hungry in "07 and food banks are stretched beyond capacity with food riots and notable famines worldwide)
• technology for the numbering in place (chipping - Katherine Albrecht covers this thoroughly)
  
• crazy weather everywhere (see ARKives 2009, Jan-June 08, July-Dec 08, 2007, 2006, 2005)
• major uprisings and ongoing wars and unrest among nations and people (not only the Mideast wars, but tax revolts expected in the US, hence the FEMA camps and legislation creating them and the expected collapse of Mexico, which will bring chaos to America)
  
• trouble within families to the point of "familicide" and financial stress splitting families
  

ISREAL'S THE KEY

These things are all happening right now and could have happened at no other time. So how do we differentiate the right from all the rest?

Here's the one unique, unmistakable sign that we are either in or near the beginning of the "End Times" of this Age:

The Bible says that when Israel becomes a nation again, that that generation will see the End Times happen. It states this in two places: Matthew 24:32-34 and Mark 13:28-29.

Israel, after being dispersed throughout the world for about 2700 years (from 597 BC), became a nation again on May 1948. All of Jerusalem was finally recaptured by the Israelis in May 1967. Both of these years have been considered in numerous prophetic analyses as a signpost to determine when the "End Times" will commence and end.


DEFINING A GENERATION

The questions are, "how long is a generation" and "from what date do we apply it?"

The Bible indicates that a man's lifetime is 70 years (3 score and ten years) This might be considered a generation. The Bible also tells us that Israel wandered in the desert for 40 years until all the "wicked" generation had passed.

If we add 70 years to 1948, we get 2018 as the end of the 7 years of Tribulation, which finish at the end of the "End Times".

If we add 40 years to 1948, we get a date that has long since passed.

If we add 40 years to 1967, we get 2007, which has already passed as well.

However, if we use 45 years as the length of a "unrighteous generation*" and we apply that length to 1967 we get 2012 as the end of the 7 years of Tribulation which finish at the end of the "End Times".

If we use the 2012 date as the finish then the 7 years of tribulation began in 2005.

If we use the 2018 date as the finish then the 7 years of tribulation will began between now and 2011.

In Summary:

Tribulation lasts 7 years. If we are correct in our analysis, 2018 is the last year it could finish and 2012 is the earliest it could finish.

The Bible just says that generation would see End Times. It didn't say it would take that entire 70 year time frame of up to 2018.

The Bible says we can know the season, but not the exact time, meaning we can know the generation time, note the specific date.

In looking at all of these clues, we have to be at that very doorway to End Times – IF we're not already in it.

* unrighteous generation defined: It was at this time Caleb was given Mount Hebron as his inheritance. At this same time, the 12 tribes of Israel were given their land allocations by Joshua. Some say that this "45-year generation" indicates the age of the generation of the Exodus – from the time Moses sent spies into Canaan until the Jews inherited their land. Since that wicked generation (the ones who made and worshipped the golden calf) had to die before Israel could received its inheritance, it is assumed that 45 years is the age of an unrighteous generation.
