How to Save Your Veggie Gardens in Extreme Heat HOLLY COMM: On a micro-level, we all want to survive and part of that includes having your own veggie gardens, which includes traditional row gardens, raised beds and containers. The latter are the easiest to protect. We all need food.
Yesterday, we hit 100º and it's supposed to be bloody stupid hot over the weekend. So we've put over the plants particularly vulnerable to heat (aka blossom droppers) that are tomatoes, peppers, peas, beans producing nothing when it gets nasty hot.
This is a new thing to be so blistering this early… Garden Gold shares how to fix this and to what density of shade cloth needs to be without harming plants. Some kinds competely block the Sun and others do nothing, so there is a particular balance of what to buy. This heatwave came out of the blue and it's not even a week into summer. Go figure, but whatever the source, be prepared. And whatever the conditions, we are always prepared by Garden Gold's knowledge.

Massive Bee Die-Offs Baffle Scientists, Industry Last Winter Saw One of the Highest Loss Rates Yet, According to Beekeepers HOLLY COMM: Though we've read about bees dying for a decade or two, this was the first year Stan and I experienced it firsthand. Last spring through fall we had more bees than you could believe. They were everywhere including in our decorative pond, in the birdbath, the dogs' outside water bowl and all over the fruit and flowering trees, flower beds and veggies. They even hung out over the irrigation sprinkler heads. This year there are barely dozens. It's been so barren of bees, Stan resorted to hand-fertilizing tomato blossoms with a soft-bristled paintbrush. Since 1/3 of crops depend on bee pollination, their disappearance has massive consequences.

Earth Has Lost 1/3 of Its Arable Land in Past 40 Years, Scientists Say HOLLY COMM: No wonder China is buying up agricultural land and water rights around the world as life-sustaining aquifers go dry and farming land disappears. This is thoroughly covered in Prophetic Perils: End Time Events Revealed as a huge End Times sign. Famine, as unbelievable as it seems, is coming again. Christians have been warned and are well aware of this event as Famine appears early as #3 in Revelation's 21 listed judgments. flashback

Midwest Floods: Worst Agricultural Disaster in Modern U.S. History HOLLY NOTE: This feels like reliving the devastating floods of 2008 that we covered extensively except worse. Some news sources haven't kept up and are still reporting about avocado shortages if President Trump closes the borders. He isn't, so MSM can stop the spew. However, something much more disturbing and far-reaching than expensive guacamole is occurring right this minute and for the past several weeks, which is the catastrophic flooding of food belts here in the U.S. and in other places around the world like Australia and Mozambique. Venezuela and North Korea are also in food crisis though for different reasons. Hunger is hunger regardless of cause.
Revelation's 3rd Seal (Rev. 6:5-6) reveals famine is coming and today, when there is GMO food, synthetic food, lab-created food, grocery store food, farmer's markets and great warehouses of food, it boggles the mind that this could happen. Yet it occurs early on in Tribulation prophecy with 6 more judgments following. We know this is coming. God has warned his people.
Food prices are set to soar with over a million acres of America's ag land underwater and over a million head of cattle and hogs drowned. Additionally, once the water subsides, it will have washed away precious topsoil and nutrients that farmers meticulously cultivated over the years. In worst hit areas, rich soil will have been replaced by toxic sewage. Some farmers are already saying they're done. Permanently. They're tired of fighting nature's onslaughts from hail to drought to insects to floods.
You can protect your personal food supply by 1) having your own garden, and 2) invest in storable foods. Gardening is easy and rewarding and doesn't require much space if using raised beds or containers as described in Garden Gold. Folks in mobile homes and apartments can have fresh veggies this way too.
For food, you can either purchase ready-made products or save money and pack your own as detailed in Dare To Prepare. It's easy to do and when you run across a great sale, package your own and save tons of $$. Store your own tap water in 2-liter soda bottles or other non-biodegradable containers. Disinfect the container, fill it with tap water and add 4 drops of plain household bleach. Alternately, use one of the other water purifying methods described in Dare To Prepare. There are ways to mitigate the coming food shortages and soaring prices. It's important to act now.

"Unprecedented" Floods Kills Over 300,000 Cows in Australia HOLLY NOTE: These poor cattle on are jammed onto this tiny piece of land, surrounded by water on all sides. It's horrible that over a million acres of agricultural land is flooded in the U.S. Midwest, and think about this: Australia's land mass is about the same size as the Lower 48 though only the perimeter or about 6% of the continent is suitable for growing crops. The interior is desert. It is beyond devastating that 49 million acres have been affected by flooding and farmers are doing their best to keep the rest of their herds alive.
